Rachel's Travels

After spending Memorial Day weekend with her GramE and GrampE, we've realized that we're now okay with our daughter beginning her travels. I have a feeling this girl will be a traveler as she grows up!

We received there request from her Terry Grandparents that they would like the opportunity to have her for a week. A WEEK!!! Now, if you're like me, having a child suddenly in your life for a week when there wasn't one before is quite daunting. I love my niece dearly, but after having her for just a few hours I was ready for her to go home. If I was around her every day, perhaps I'd feel differently. So when they requested her for a week I wasn't hesitant because they were incapable. Quite the contrary! I was concerned about the inconvenience and life upheaval for a week. However, I've been assured by both my parents, Jason's parents, and many many other folks that with grandparents, it's just different. So I quit worrying about it and offered to let them take Rachel home with them when they came up this weekend for a visit. They were elated and quickly made changes to their plans so they could take her home with them.

I've asked Geri to journal and take pictures of her visit this week. So the next update you get should be from Rachel's visit to Evansville sans parents.

We're doing ok in her absence. Although we do miss her quite a bit, we're enjoying being able to get out and do things we can't normally do when we have her. Such as going to the movies, taking day trips, having a game night with friends, etc. There is so much we're trying to pack into this week I'm not sure if we'll survive or be able to get it all done!!
